If you'd like to try Japanese food prepared at the highest level and paired with a selection of sakes from some of Japan's finest small breweries, consider joining Kenji and Chef Tsuyoshi for a very special private meal.
While Chef Tsuyoshi works his magic in the kitchen, Kenji will teach a master class in sake tasting, covering the spectrum of flavors from aromatic to umami, with the goal of helping you find your favorite new sake.
As each delicious dish is served, Kenji will cover why he chose the particular pairing and talk about the history of the breweries and the fortitude and skill it takes to create world-class sake.
The style of the meal will be 'omakase,' meaning the menu will be based on whatever the freshest and most delicious ingredients happen to be at the market that morning. We would ask that you give Chef Tsuyoshi the freest hand possible in selecting the menu, but please let us know well in advance if there are any food allergies we need to accommodate.
Chef Tsuyoshi, who has had years of training in the strict traditions of sushi, tempura, and kaiseki cuisine, will talk about the choices he made for the evening's menu and the seasonal and cultural relevance of each dish.
The meal will be prepared in front of you at a special venue that boasts a commercial kitchen and comfortable seating, and Chef Tsuyoshi and Kenji will welcome your questions and answer them in as much detail as you like. You'll learn about the intricacies of pouring and drinking sake from Kenji. Chef Tsuyoshi might even invite you to try your hand at making sushi.
